What to Expect
On each day of the workshop, all participants will play their instruments and enjoy seminars from the clinicians and guest speakers. Participants who have elected to conduct will do so during the Wind Band Conducting Sessions.
Conducting
Everyone in attendance at the workshop will have the opportunity to conduct in a collaborative setting. These sessions will use short excerpts related to the large ensemble repertoire. Each conducting participation seminar will provide an opportunity to try different styles of music and allow participants to share their ideas in addition to those given by the clinicians.
What to bring
Please bring your instrument and any supplies including possibly an instrument stand and mutes. All participants should also bring batons and related scores. Summers in Tampa are hot, but the buildings are air-conditioned and can get chilly at times; we recommend that participants bring a sweater or jacket. All participants are responsible for their own belongings while on campus. The Naranja Conductors Workshop assumes no responsibility for theft or damage to personal property.
